This article on Ms. Magazine blog by Julia Serano (author of Whipping Girl) deserves a post on its own just to make people aware of it. In my previous “Worth reading” post I linked to the MS. blog series about the future of feminism. In that series was a post about trans feminism that was – let me be kind – incomplete. The comments reveal that even among feminists there is a lot of transphobia. One would think that a group that is actively fighting for rights would at least acknowledge that other groups have rights too. Especially when these are nearly completely overlapping the concerns of feminism.
